SIARDAILY, Jakarta – Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono mengaku penerapan diskon tarif jalan tol, terutama pada periode musim liburan seperti Lebaran dan Natal – Tahun Baru itu merupakan inisiatif dari masing-masing Badan Usaha Jalan Tol (BUJT).
“Terkait dengan penerapan diskon tarif tol, bukan perintah kewenangan Kementerian PUPR, itu merupakan inisiatif dari masing-masing BUJT,” kata Basuki di Jakarta, seperti dikutip dari laman Antaranews.com, Rabu 22 November 2023.

Basuki menambahkan, tidak semua BUJT menerapkan diskon tarif tol seperti halnya pada Lebaran 2023, di mana ada BUJT yang menerapkan diskon dan juga ada BUJT yang tidak menerapkannya. “Maka dari itu, kami mengajukan usulan diskon tarif tol kepada ATI (Asosiasi Jalan Tol Indonesia),” ujarnya.
Mengenai diskon tarif tol ini, Basuki mengaku pemerintah hanya mengimbau karena pemerintah tidak bisa melakukan intervensi terhadap aksi korporasi BUJT. “Jadi, semua harus berdasarkan pada aksi korporasi sesuai dengan proses bisnis (business process) masing-masing BUJT,” ujarnya.
Sebagai informasi, penerapan kebijakan diskon tol ini merupakan upaya BUJT untuk mengurangi kepadatan kendaraan di jalan tol, terutama ketika periode liburan Hari Raya Keagamaan seperti Lebaran atau Natal – Tahun Baru.
Selain itu, sebagai upaya memecah arus lalu lintas tersebut, juga tanpa mengurangi kualitas layanan jalan tol.
Sementara itu, kehadiran diskon tarif tol ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat yang memiliki keleluasaan waktu untuk mudik lebih dulu atau kembali lebih belakangan.
Dari hasil survei yang dilakukan oleh Badan Kebijakan Transportasi, potensi pergerakan untuk Natal 2023 dan Tahun Baru 2024 sebesar 107,6 juta orang yang akan bepergian atau 39,8 persen. Dibandingkan dengan Natal 2022 – Tahun Baru 2023, maka terdapat kenaikan sekitar 43 persen.
Terkait moda transportasi yang digunakan oleh pemudik Natal dan Tahun Baru kali ini, mobil pribadi menjadi primadona nomor satu sekitar 35 persen, sepeda motor 17 persen, kereta api 13 persen, berikutnya moda angkutan udara, bus dan kapal laut.
Sedangkan untuk jalur yang diprediksi dilalui oleh mobil adalah Jalan Tol Trans Jawa 31 persen, Cipularang 19 persen, dan Jagorawi sebanyak 15 persen. (asp)
