SIARDAILY, Jakarta – Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Perindustrian mengundang multinational brands yang bergerak di industri kosmetik agar berinvestasi di dalam negeri. Sebab, Indonesia memiliki peluang yang sangat besar untuk pengembangan industri tersebut.
Konsumsi perkapita kosmetik di Indonesia, tercatat masih jauh lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan negara kompetitor seperti Thailand dan Malaysia, walaupun memiliki jumlah penduduk melebihi negara-negara tersebut.
Kemudian, dari sekitar Rp150 triliun Pertumbuhan Domestik Bruto (PDB) yang dihasilkan Industri Bahan Kimia dan Barang dari Bahan Kimia, termasuk industri kosmetik, baru sekitar 30 persen berasal dari nilai tambah industri dalam negeri, sedangkan sebesar 70 persen masih dari luar negeri. Hal tersebut, merupakan peluang besar untuk direbut oleh industri lokal.
“Saya senang mendengar angka-angka tersebut. Artinya, ini adalah potensi yang bisa diraih di Indonesia. Karenanya, saya meminta kepada multinational brands yang bergerak di industri kosmetik dan selama ini hanya melihat Indonesia sebagai pasar untuk mulai berinvestasi di sini,” ujar Menteri Perindustrian Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita pada pembukaan Indonesia Cosmetics Ingredients Expo & Seminar (ICI) 2024 di Jakarta International Expo, Rabu 29 Mei 2024.

Untuk memanfaatkan peluang-peluang tersebut, salah satu faktor penting yang perlu dilakukan adalah mendorong penggunaan bahan baku kosmetik yang berasal dari dalam negeri. Saat ini, tren memadukan zat bahan alam (organic based cosmetics) dari minyak atsiri, tumbuhan herbal, dan rumput laut mendorong industri lokal berinovasi menciptakan produk yang berkualitas dan memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi.
Berdasarkan data dari Statista, pendapatan dari penjualan kosmetik natural atau yang menggunakan bahan baku dari alam secara global diperkirakan tumbuh dengan rata-rata 6,85 persen hingga tahun 2028. Sedangkan, pendapatan nasional dari industri kosmetik natural diperkirakan tumbuh dengan rata-rata 5,9 persen hingga tahun 2028. Selaras dengan tren tersebut, Indonesia memiliki potensi yang besar untuk menjadi negara sumber bahan baku kosmetik natural dengan adanya 30 ribu jenis tanaman berkhasiat.
“Namun, baru 350 jenis yang sudah dimanfaatkan oleh industri. Peluang ini harus dimanfaatkan oleh industri lokal untuk menciptakan keunikan dan daya saing baru produk kosmetik lokal,” jelas Menperin.
Ia menambahkan, Kemenperin akan meramu solusi untuk menjawab isu terkait bahan baku kosmetik, salah satunya melalui rencana kolaborasi antara industri agro dengan industri kimia dan farmasi untuk percepatan penyediaan bahan baku lokal bagi industri kosmetik. Selain optimalisasi pasar dan penggunaan bahan baku lokal, kosmetik halal juga merupakan peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan para pelaku usaha. Dengan banyaknya jumlah penduduk muslim dan mulai diwajibkannya produk halal di Indonesia, industri kosmetik nasional harus mampu menambah produksi dan varian kosmetik halal.
Industri kosmetik menjadi salah satu industri prioritas pada penyelenggaraan bidang Jaminan Produk Halal. Kemenperin menaruh fokus terhadap pemberdayaan industri halal melalui fasilitasi sertifikasi halal, dukungan promosi industri halal, dan menyelenggarakan Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) sejak 2022, sebagai bentuk apresiasi kepada para pelaku usaha industri yang menerapkan sistem jaminan produk halal dengan berbagai inovasi dan pengembangan.
“Tentunya, kami berharap dapat memperkenalkan kosmetik halal Indonesia di pasar global, dan menjadikan Indonesia sebagai pusat kosmetik halal dunia,” kata Agus. (asp)
