SIARDAILY, Kuala Lumpur – Jenama jaringan makanan dan minuman (food and beverages) asal Indonesia, Kopi Kenangan, merambah dan memberanikan diri untuk menjajal pasar internasional. Dua negara ASEAN, Malaysia dan Singapura menjadi pasar perdana mereka.
Di Negeri Jiran, Kopi Kenangan kali pertama membuka gerainya di pusat perbelanjaan Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.
CEO dan Co-Founder Kopi Kenangan, Edward Tirtanata mengatakan, Malaysia dipilih karena dinilai memiliki pasar penikmat kopi yang cukup besar.
“Malaysia itu market kopinya cukup besar, walaupun populasinya tidak sebesar negara lain. Selain itu, warga di sini suka kopi, dan government dan regulations-nya pun sangat friendly dengan investment, serta adopsi digital juga cukup baik,” kata Edward dalam wawancara eksklusif di Kuala Lumpur, seperti dikutip dari laman Antara, Senin 2 Oktober 2023.

Ia mengatakan, besaran pasar penikmat kopi di Malaysia sebesar lebih dari 1 miliar dolar AS, atau sekira Rp15,4 triliun. “Selain itu, banyak kesamaan yang dimiliki orang Malaysia dengan orang Indonesia, dalam hal cita rasa dan keinginan untuk mencoba hal-hal baru,” ujar Edward.
Hal tersebut, lanjut dia, dinilai senada dengan rencana Pemerintah Malaysia untuk memperluas digitalisasi di berbagai kebutuhan dan layanan sehari-hari masyarakat, serta perencanaan bisnis dari Kopi Kenangan sendiri.
“Proyeksi sektor F&B di Malaysia juga menjanjikan, karena saat ini Malaysia sedang bertransformasi dalam menerapkan ekonomi digital berpenghasilan tinggi dengan fokus utama pada digitalisasi yang juga sejalan dengan konsep bisnis kami,” katanya.
Lebih lanjut, Edward mengatakan, aplikasi Kopi Kenangan yang sebelumnya akrab di Indonesia, juga akan dikenalkan dan diluncurkan dengan berbagai fitur dan fungsi yang sesuai dengan kondisi, serta preferensi pengguna di Malaysia. “Akan ada penyesuaian UI/UX (user interface dan user experience) aplikasi tersebut di tiap negara. Jadi, aplikasi Kopi Kenangan di Indonesia sendiri akan berbeda dengan di Malaysia,” ujar dia.
Adapun Kopi Kenangan beroperasi di bawah nama Kenangan Coffee sebagai nama merek internasional yang digunakan di luar Indonesia.
“Alasan kami menggunakan nama Kenangan Coffee, karena kami ingin memfokuskan pada kata kunci ‘kenangan’, dengan harapan kami dapat memperlakukan setiap konsumen yang datang ke gerai sebagai teman dan setiap cangkir kopi yang kami buat dengan cinta dapat meninggalkan kenangan yang baik untuk para konsumen,” kata Chief Business Development dan Co-Founder Kopi Kenangan, James Prananto.
Selain gerai pertamanya di Suria KLCC, Kenangan Coffee juga akan membuka empat gerai lainnya di MyTown Cheras, Pavilion KL, NU Sentral KL, dan Sunway Pyramid PJ di akhir tahun ini.
Kenangan Coffee juga meluncurkan Kenangan Academy di Uptown, PJ, untuk menyediakan berbagai program pelatihan yang diperuntukkan bagi para barista dan karyawan, dengan tujuan menjadi pusat pelatihan profesional di bidang F&B terbaik di Malaysia.
Buka Gerai di Singapura
Sementara itu, Kopi Kenangan juga resmi membuka gerai internasional keduanya di pasar Asia Tenggara, yakni di pusat perbelanjaan Raffles City, Singapura, sebagai langkah berikutnya mewujudkan ekspansi global mereka.
“Di Singapura ini, toko pertama kami dan kami percaya ini batu loncatan untuk kami menuju pasar internasional. Singapura adalah hub dari ASEAN dan ini bisa menjadi showcase di dunia,” ujar Group CEO of Kenangan Brands Edward Tirtanata di Singapura.
Edward berharap, bisa membuka gerai Kenangan Coffee tidak hanya di Indonesia, Malaysia dan Singapura, tetapi juga di negara-negara lain. “Kami percaya, kopi Indonesia punya banyak jenis dari Sidikalang, Kintamani, Bali, Jawa Barat, dan kami percaya our passion menyebar tidak hanya di Indonesia, tetapi juga mendunia,” kata dia.
Edward menuturkan, seperti halnya di Malaysia, Kopi Kenangan di Singapura beroperasi di bawah nama Kenangan Coffee sebagai merek internasional yang digunakan di luar Indonesia. Kata “Coffee” menggantikan kata “Kopi” mengingat tak semua orang di luar Indonesia mengetahui arti kata “kopi”.
Sekalipun ada pergantian kata, mereka mempertahankan identitas menggunakan biji kopi dari Indonesia, seperti Sidikalang dan Flores dengan sekitar 80 persen merupakan arabika, serta menu kopi dengan gula aren.
Harga satu gelas kopi dibanderol mulai 2,9 hingga 7,9 dolar Singapura dengan menu yang hampir sama dengan di Indonesia seperti Kenangan Latte, ditambah menu baru antara lain Creamy Latte dan Pour Over Misto.
Lebih lanjut tentang menu, menurut Edward, Susu Gula Aren atau Kenangan Latte diprediksi akan menjadi favorit di Singapura, seperti halnya di Malaysia.
“Gula aren sangat Indonesia ya. Bisa dibilang, ini culture-nya Indonesia banget begitu ya. Kita bawa dan semoga ini bisa menjadi suatu habbit baru, bukan hanya Asia Tenggara, tetapi juga globally untuk mengonsumsi kopi Indonesia apa lagi gula aren,” jelas Edward.
Senada dengan Edward, Co-CEO sekaligus Co-Founder of Kopi Kenangan James Prananto berharap, menu Kenangan Latte bisa menjadi best seller alias meraih penjualan terbaik.
Kemudian, berbicara pemilihan lokasi gerai, ini berada relatif dekat dengan Stasiun MRT City Hall dan cukup banyak kantor di sana seperti halnya di Malaysia dan Indonesia.
Dalam kesempatan yang sama General Manager of Kenangan Coffee in Malaysia dan Singapore Jordan Lung menuturkan setelah sukses usaha di Malaysia, jenama tempatnya bernaung membuka gerai Singapura dengan resep dan rasa yang unik sama seperti di Indonesia tetapi sedikit lebih lokal.
“Rasanya unik dari kompetitor lain, gula aren yang kami gunakan sesuatu yang unik dibandingkan brand lain, mengangkat rasa ke level yang lain,” tutur dia.
Nantinya, satu gerai Kopi Kenangan lagi akan dibuka di terminal 2 Changi Aiport dan dari sana bisa diharapkan bisa menjadi pintu membuka gerai di negara-negara lainnya. Tim menargetkan bisa membuka empat gerai hingga akhir tahun ini di Singapura. (asp)
