SIARDAILY, Jabar – Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) melalui Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai (BBWS) Cimanuk Cisanggarung, Ditjen Sumber Daya Air, menyelesaikan pembangunan Bendungan Cipanas di Kabupaten Sumedang, Provinsi Jawa Barat.
Bendungan berkapasitas 250,81 juta m3 ini siap diresmikan untuk segera dimanfaatkan sebagai tampungan air mendukung irigasi pertanian dan sumber air baku di kawasan segitiga Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati (Rebana) yang berada di Kabupaten Indramayu dan Sumedang.
Menteri PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono mengatakan, pengelolaan sumber daya air dan irigasi akan terus dilanjutkan untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan. “Bendungan dan jaringan irigasinya dibangun dengan biaya besar. Oleh karena itu pastikan kualitas pekerjaannya baik sehingga dapat segera dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk mengairi sawah – sawah milik petani,” kata Menteri Basuki.
Bendungan yang memiliki kapasitas 10 kali lebih besar dari Bendungan Kuningan ini diproyeksikan dapat menambah suplai air irigasi pertanian di Kabupaten Sumedang dan Indramayu seluas 9.273 hektare, khususnya di Daerah Irigasi (DI) Cipanas, Cikawung, dan Cibunut.
Dukungan air irigasi dari bendungan ini bakal meningkatkan intensitas tanam para petani dari sebelumnya menggunakan metode tadah hujan yang hanya menghasilkan satu kali panen dalam setahun mejadi 2 atau 3 kali panen.
Dengan kapasitas tampung yang besar tersebut, Bendungan Cipanas juga dapat memenuhi air baku sebesar 850 liter/detik bagi kawasan industri Rebana dan kawasan permukiman, termasuk Bandara Kertajati.
Saat ini, telah didesain untuk kawasan industri di Kabupaten Sumedang sebesar 650 liter/detik dan kebutuhan air minum masyarakat di Kecamatan Terisi, Kabupaten Indramayu sebesar 200 liter/detik.
Bendungan Cipanas dibangun setinggi 71,60 meter dengan tipe urugan inti tegak. Bendungan ini memiliki luas genangan 1.315,95 hektare yang juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tampungan air pengendali banjir untuk wilayah Indramayu dan sekitarnya. Karena mampu mengurangi debit banjir sebesar 487,75 m3/detik, maka potensi sebagai sumber pembangkit listrik sebesar 3 MW.
Pembangunan Bendungan Cipanas dikerjakan selama 2016-2023 dengan kontraktor pelaksana PT. Wijaya Karya – PT. Jaya Konstruksi (KSO) yang fokus pada pembangunan tubuh bendungan dan PT. Brantas Abipraya (Persero) untuk pembangunan infrastruktur pendukung. Secara keseluruhan, biaya pembangunan Bendungan Cipanas sebesar Rp2,03 triliun yang bersumber dari APBN.
