SIARDAILY, Arab Saudi – Terayacht berbentuk kura-kura yang diklaim sebagai kapal terbesar dan termegah, dibangun negara penghasil minyak bumi terbesar dunia, Arab Saudi, selain sebagai kapal pesiar juga berfungsi menjadi apartemen mewah terapung yang bisa menampung hampir seluruh penduduk kota, atau sekitar 60 ribu orang.

Kapal pesiar megah ini, seperti dilansir Robb Report, dirancang Lazzarini Design Studio, perusahaan asal Italia yang terkenal ahli dalam merancang superyachts, pelabuhan futuristik, dan sejenisnya.
Dinamai Pangeos, untuk menghormati benua super Pangea yang ada jutaan tahun lalu, era Paleozoikum akhir dan awal Mesozoikum. Seperti namanya, kapal itu juga akan menutupi sebagian besar lautan.
Kapal raksasa berukuran panjang total 550 meter (1.800 kaki) dan 2.000 kaki (610 meter) pada titik terlebar di sayapnya, jika jadi dibangun akan menjadi struktur kapal terapung terbesar di dunia.
Lambung baja yang terdiri dari 30 ribu “sel”, akan membantu menjaga Pangeo dapat bertahan dari hempasan gelombang. Selain itu, kura-kura ini dapat berlayar keliling dunia tanpa henti tanpa emisi, karena pasokan energi hijau yang hampir tak ada habisnya.
Kapal dilengkapi panel surya yang menghasilkan tenaga matahari untuk muatan hotel dan sistem propulsi. Didukung sembilan motor listrik, masing-masing 16.800 hp, sehingga Pangeos dapat melaju dengan kecepatan maksimum 5 knot. “Sayap” juga bisa menarik lebih banyak kekuatan dari ombak dan angin.
Di atas kapal, Pangeos adalah perpaduan antara apartemen resor kelas bintang lima, kapal pesiar, dan sebuah kota.
Lazzarini mengungkapkan, kapal ini dapat menampung sebanyak 60 ribu tamu, melalui kombinasi vila dan apartemen mewah. Sorotan lainnya adalah mal di atap, taman yang luas, beberapa kolam renang, dan klub pantai yang super besar.
Kapal pesiar yang diperkirakan menelan biaya sekitar USD8 miliar dan terbangun dengan jangka waktu delapan tahun ini dilengkapi dengan helipad, hanggar, dan marina. (as09)
