SIARDAILY, Bandung – Bendungan Situ Lembang yang terletak di Kecamatan Parongpong, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, Provinsi Jawa Barat, direhabilitasi karena telah dimakan usia. Biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk rehabilitasi mencapai hampir Rp44 miliar.
Kepala Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai Citarum Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya Air Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR), Bastari mengatakan, Bendungan Situ Lembang merupakan bendungan tua yang dibangun pada 1912.
“Bendungan ini, merupakan urugan tanah dengan tinggi 10,5 meter, panjang 350 meter dan luas waduk 54,97 hektare, sehingga membentuk tampungan total 3,02 juta m3 (meter kubik),” kata dia dikutip dari keterangan resminya, Kamis 15 Februari 2024.

Menurut Bastasri, dari hasil pemeriksaan terhadap Bendungan Situ Lembang untuk keamanan dan optimalisasi fungsi bendungan, memang diperlukan kegiatan rehabilitasi. Pekerjaannya dilakukan pada tahun 2022-2023, dengan biaya Rp43,802 miliar.
“Pekerjaan rehabilitasi Bendungan Situ Lembang meliputi perbaikan tubuh bendungan, pengerukan sedimen, perbaikan bangunan pelimpah dan intake, serta pembangunan fasilitas dan sarana pendukungnya,” ujarnya.
Bendungan ini berfungsi untuk konservasi daerah aliran sungai (DAS) Situ Lembang 6,05 kilometer persegi, dan sumber air baku untuk Air Minum Kota Cimahi dan Kabupaten Bandung Barat sebesar 200 liter/detik.
“Bendungan Situ Lembang juga berkontribusi untuk pengendalian banjir di wilayah Bandung, yang dapat mereduksi debit banjir hingga 73 persen pada daerah tangkapan airnya,” tambah Bastari.
Selain itu, karena Bendungan Situ Lembang berada di wilayah latihan Pusdiklatpasus, bendungan ini juga dimanfaatkan sebagai bagian prasarana latihan militer.
Sementara itu, Menteri PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono mengatakan, untuk menghadapi tantangan perubahan iklim, seperti hujan ekstrim atau kekeringan panjang, Indonesia harus memperbanyak tampungan air, baik melalui embung maupun bendungan.
“Salah satu adaptasi perubahan iklim dapat dilakukan dengan mengoptimalkan dan merehabilitasi bendungan, termasuk Bendungan Situ Lembang di Kabupaten Bandung Barat ini,” katanya. (asp)
